Track Patients, Remove Bottlenecks

Healthcare staff often waste valuable time walking around seeking patients, manually updating electronic health records (EHRs), or making phone calls to inform families. These delays introduce bottlenecks in patient flow and reduce quality of care. Many “patient flow” solutions simply allow staff to move digital tokens around—they don’t eliminate manual work or actually track real‑time status automatically.

CenTrak’s Automated Clinical Workflow solution solves this by using Real‑Time Locating System (RTLS) technology to automate status updates and patient/staff/equipment movement tracking. Location sensors, tags, and infrastructure capture movements and status changes automatically—no manual entries needed. The system continuously updates patient wait times, location, and readiness, so staff always know who’s waiting, where, and what’s ready to proceed.

Providers can see, at a glance, the number of patients waiting, how long they've been waiting, and whether they are ready for their next step. Families can receive automated status updates, reducing calls and increasing transparency. For many care settings—outpatient clinics, emergency departments, surgery centers, radiology departments—CenTrak offers pre‑configured workflow templates that can be tailored to specific departmental needs.

The system uses advanced Gen2IR (Second Generation Infrared) location technology for room, sub‑room, or bay‑level locating. Battery powered Monitors and Virtual Walls in key workflow zones allow tags to report precise location IDs without requiring line‑of‑sight. Tags relay that ID via radio‑frequency to the Location Server, which integrates with the EHR or scheduling system using connectors. Staff then benefit from hands‑free status tracking, automated triggers for delays, and visual dashboards showing workflow bottlenecks.

Benefits
