Steam Trap Monitoring - TWTG
Optimize your facility with this steam trap monitoring solution based on the NEON Temperature Transmitter. This solution ensures the detection of steam trap failures, reducing energy waste and maintenance costs while enhancing operational safety and efficiency.
To address the prevalent issue of steam trap failures, which lead to energy waste and increased costs, TWTG offers a highly effective steam trap monitoring solution utilizing its NEON Temperature Transmitter. Traditional manual inspection methods often fail to detect issues promptly, resulting in unnecessary energy loss and increased operational costs. This solution leverages advanced wireless technology to provide continuous, real-time monitoring of steam traps.
The NEON Temperature Transmitter uses PT100 temperature probes placed upstream and downstream of each steam trap to detect anomalies. This setup identifies two main failure types: blocked traps and failed open traps. When a trap is blocked, the downstream temperature drops below a preset threshold, triggering an alert. Conversely, if a trap fails to open, excess steam raises the downstream temperature above the threshold, also triggering an alert.
This wireless monitoring system, enabled by a LoRaWAN network, requires minimal infrastructure and integrates seamlessly into existing facilities. The retrofittable sensors are easy to deploy without extensive planning or complex wiring, allowing for rapid installation and immediate operation. Engineers can mount the sensors and let the system autonomously monitor and report data.
The benefits of this digital monitoring solution are multifaceted. It significantly extends the lifespan of steam traps by allowing for immediate detection and correction of failures, which in turn reduces energy waste and enhances overall efficiency. Moreover, the simplicity and reliability of the system minimize human error and labor costs associated with traditional manual inspections. This modern approach to steam trap monitoring not only ensures optimal performance and safety but also delivers substantial cost savings, making it an invaluable asset in the process industry.
Catch Leaks Before They Happen
The early detection of steam trap degradation enables preventative maintenance, avoiding costly steam leaks and inefficiencies. Continuous monitoring ensures timely interventions, preventing minor issues from escalating into major problems.
Reduce Maintenance Costs
Continuous, real-time monitoring eliminates the need for time-consuming and labor-intensive manual inspections. This reduces labor costs and allows maintenance teams to focus on more critical tasks, increasing overall productivity.
Minimize Accidents and Injuries
Promptly addressing faulty steam traps minimizes the risk of accidents and injuries within the facility. The reliable detection and alert system ensures that potential hazards are identified and mitigated before they can pose a threat to operational safety.
